Girondins de Bordeaux face fellow Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in this second leg tie at Stade Chaban-Delmas. OL are in pole position to proceed to the semi finals having defeated Bordeaux 3-1 in the first leg as the home side enter a period of poor form that has seen their bid to progress in Ligue 1 and Europe begin to falter. A shock 2-1 home defeat to Nancy dropped GB down to fourth place in the French League with their opponents tonight now topping the Ligue 1 table. Bordeaux do have 2 matches in hand over their rivals, however recent form has put enormous pressure on the side as defensive problems have diminished their strong lead in Ligue 1 from earlier in the season. Lyon enter the match on the back off a 2-1 win over Stade Rennais.
The home side will have Chalme available for selection although the defender put in a poor showing in the weekend’s league fixture. Fernando will be unavailable for the rest of the season due to a broken cheekbone however GB should see Planus back in their defence pending a late fitness test. Makoun remains out for the visitors while OL will also be without Anderson. Clerc has been named in the squad however with a lack of match fitness it is highly unlikely he will feature in tonight’s quarter final. Expect Cissokho to return after missing out at the weekend while both Lopez and Govou are suspended and will miss this encounter.
